Plumbing Advertising Judged on Booked Jobs

Paid ads that put your number in front of homeowners with an urgent plumbing problem, plus a separate budget for planned work. ASP manages Local Services Ads, Search and Meta.

Plumbing

Why urgent and planned plumbing ads need separate budgets

An emergency call and a repipe lead come from different searches and pay very different amounts. Mixing them in one campaign hides which work is carrying your ad spend.

Plumber working on a water heater

Urgent category on LSA

Google calls plumbing an urgent Local Services Ads category, because people often call a plumber for things like a hot water outage.

After-hours clicks need answers

Evening and weekend work is common for plumbers, BLS notes. If your ads run at night, someone has to pick up, or the click is wasted.

Planned jobs get their own campaigns

Water heater, repipe and leak-detection searches differ from emergencies in terms, ticket size and time to decide, so they get separate budgets.

How it works

How a plumbing ad account gets run

01

Read the account

Settings, search terms, geography and what the conversion action counts get checked first. You see the findings before any spend changes.

02

Split urgent from planned

Emergency campaigns run on the hours your crew answers. Planned-work campaigns get their own budget sized to what those jobs are worth.

03

Cut the waste

Negative keywords grow every week, and spend outside the drive time you'd accept gets pulled back.

04

Review booked jobs monthly

A monthly review covers spend, booked jobs and what changed, and we show you how to read the account yourself.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Usually, if you qualify and your reviews can carry a strong profile. You pay per lead, and rank depends on your bid, reviews and response time, among other things. We run LSA next to Search Ads, not in place of them.

It's Google's current name for its Local Services verification badge. Google is discontinuing the money-back guarantee tied to the older badge, so your ads and site should use the new name.

Work back from what a booked job is worth, not a flat monthly figure. A drain call and a full repipe can support very different costs per job. Ad spend goes straight to Google or Meta, separate from management.

Not to start. Performance Max spends across several Google networks with limited visibility into where the money went. We'd rather prove Search and Local Services Ads first, then test it with clean conversion data and branded search excluded.

You do. Every ad account is set up in your name from day one, ad spend is paid from your own accounts, and there's no exit fee if you leave.

In California and Florida, yes: Google lists "Drain expert" as its own Local Services Ads category there. Elsewhere in the US, Google lists no separate drain category, and whether a drain-only company qualifies under "Plumbers" is Google's call. Google screens every business before ads run.

Only if someone will answer. If your crew takes after-hours calls, the ad schedule should run then, and BLS notes evening and weekend work is common for plumbers. If nobody picks up at 10 p.m., those clicks are wasted.
